These pretty croutons are the perfect addition to any soup - especially at Christmas! They have a lovely light garlic flavour and a real crunch.
Fate Star Croutons freeze well. They also can be stored in an airtight container, and as long as they are dried out thoroughly they will keep for ages!
INGREDIENTS
sliced Fate Low Protein Bread
1 clove garlic
a little olive oil
Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 3, 160°C, 325°F.
Cut the clove of garlic in half and rub it all over the surface of a baking tray, then lightly grease the tray with a little olive oil.
Place the bread onto a board and remove the crusts with a sharp knife. Use a rolling pin to roll the slice of bread quite thin.
Use a small star biscuit cutter and cut out star shapes from the bread. Place them in one layer onto the baking tray.
Bake in a preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes until dry, crisp and toasted.
Turn them over about half way through baking. Leave to cool. Serve with your favourite soup.
